Woodsman Tavern:
Line Cook

Posted 10/26/21

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a line cook to join our team!

The Woodsman Tavern is coming back, better than ever! This warm, inviting neighborhood gem will be a classic tavern, in all the best ways. The casual, comforting menu will focus on burgers and seafood, while the bar turns out straightforward, approachable cocktails. We’ll feature a robust, local beer selection and offer our guests a place to gather, share stories, and feel rejuvenated. It’ll feel like home.

We’re looking for someone who is excited to build upon the foundations of one of Portland’s most beloved restaurants as we prepare for our 2021 relaunch. Ideally, you will have 3-4 years of experience working as a Line Cook. Familiarity with traditional, American tavern cuisine and ingredients is helpful, but not required. A willingness to learn, however, is.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food, cooking, and the hospitality industry and is both comfortable and competent in a kitchen environment. You’re the kind of person who is prepared, on time, and able to follow through with tasks to completion.

We’re a small team, and we are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with others and isn’t afraid to bring their full self to everything they do.

COMPENSATION

We're committed to advancing pay equity in the hospitality industry. Starting hourly rates range $16-18 DOE, with your first opportunity for a wage assessment after 90 days. We offer clear, transparent means for career advancement and earnings growth. We also offer health, vision, and dental coverage with new benefits, such as a 401(k), rolling out by year's end. All of our restaurants have a 20% automatic gratuity that is shared by all hourly team members, and we've instituted a 3% Wellness charge that goes directly to pay for benefits for our teams. If you're curious about any of this, please don't hesitate to reach out.
